Free Consultation (more about it)

A free consultation accomplishes a few things:

• You will get a taste for my working style and how I operate
• You will get free industry business information, thinking tools and ideas for proceeding with your project and business.
• I will learn more about you and your business case and how specifically I might be of service to you.

After the 1/2 hour free consultation, I begin billing for open consulting at my hourly rate. 

For 1/2 hour, I will:

• listen and understand your needs
• ask questions that help me better understand your needs
• present questions you can ask yourself to guide you in making decisions 
• make recommendations based on limitations you may have
• share knowledge and how-to kinds of information
• assess risk
• conduct cursory online market research and verbally share results
• discover assets you might put toward your project

A consultation does not include selling:

• offer ideas on how we might work together
• explaining service offering or processes
• asking me questions about my experience or skill set

These things are complimentary; I assume to be part of my duty to you so you feel comfortable working with me. I will, however, ask you how you would like to proceed once the consultation is complete.

A consultation also does not include production:

• creating deliverables (files, designs, documentation, code, materials, etc.)
• in-depth market research or reports

I will prepare a written proposal that will outline the tasks, deliverables, schedule and costs when you say you're ready to begin working with me.
